University of Cambridge Visit

It has been confirmed that Patrick will make another official visit to the University of Cambridge on 7 July.
He will meet with researchers with the intention of future cooperation in the area of inclusive design and give a lecture to the Cambridge University Design and User Experience Group.
Patrick said, “Cambridge University are world leaders in the area of designing for people with disabilities. The aim is to bring together my commercial experience with their academic excellence in order to help to continue to move this very important field forward.”
Business Leaders Address

It has been announced that Patrick will be the invited speaker at an event organised jointly by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Institute for Business Consulting (IBC). The event will be held in Birmingham in early 2010.
Patrick will be sharing the secrets of career success and giving insights based on his own career and the successful people he has worked with as a consultant.
He said, "I am delighted to have been asked to speak at this event. Both the CMI and the IBC have consistently demonstrated a commitment to the professional development of their members and I am pleased to be involved with these two excellenct organisations.
Social Marketing Talks

As mentioned in last month's news, Patrick is to give talks for the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He will give three talks on the subject of social marketing and how getting the right messages to the public can help people improve their lives.
Patrick has extensive experience of public sector work including education, crime prevention and health. He has just completed a major project with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) aimed at helping people from low income groups to improve their health and this will be the focus of his talks.
He said, “Marketing techniques have a role to play in helping people take control of their lives and make positive decisions about their future. The work with the NHS was hugely successful and it’s great to have the chance to share my experience with marketing professionals.”
Patrick will speak at Bournemouth on 12 October, Bristol on 20 October and Exeter on 25 November.
Student Career Seminar

Patrick has been invited to give a guest lecture at the University of Bristol as part of a seminar series organised by the Centre for Personal and Professional Development. Patrick will be addressing students on the subject of how to build a successful career.
He said, "The Centre of Personal and Professional Development is a great initiative by the University of Bristol. The University's decision to create such a centre demonstrates their understanding that success comes not just from academic qualifications, but also from developing the right attitudes, behaviours and characteristics."
Patrick's lecture will take place on Friday, December 4th, 2009.
